Rocket Leaper - Almost done + New project - GameCluster

Rocket Leaper is basically finished, all it needs now is music and highscore protection (they are easily hackable atm). Can't wait to release it to you guys!

Also...
I've started a new project~
GameCluster
(Panoken, one of the OSG's)

GameCluster will be a compilation of OSG's (One-script-games) all put together into one game. Right now it only has 2 games in it(made by me), one of them is not really complete though. You can check out the GMC WIP Topic here, or just download right here. These one-script-games are not (hopefully) going to be made exclusively by me, I hope to get other people to chip in and contribute their own OSG's to this project. So feel free to send me a PM on the GMC or email me at orange08-jock@hotmail.com to submit an OSG.

Woohoo I got 1st place in the 5th RDC(Rapid Development Competition)!!!

My game was called LASOR DOT MAN and it was a very pixely game with a 40 X 30 pixel resolution.

No prize, no reward... just the satisfaction of a job well done and I also got a bit of good ol' pracitce(at making games quickly of course)!

P.S.
Just finished adding meteor showers to Rocket Leaper, the game's going epicly!

wow I'm so lazy

Today I was too lazy to work on Rocket Leaper, so I just started doodling(things like these are also sometimes called zentangles)...
Sorry if it takes a long time to load.
Anyways, I learnt something new from one of my game-testers, asteroids do not reach the earth's atmosphere, only meteorites do! I guess I've gotta stop calling those falling asteroi- d'oh- I mean I better stop calling those falling rocks asteroids.

Oh, I also uploaded this vid of Rocket Leaper hell mode: clicky

Rocket Leaper vid

I uploaded a 13 seconds-long video to youtube. 13 seconds = 5 minutes uploading time -_-

Anyway I've been making some good progress on the game. I've let another guy, Dark Matter in on the testing. It has 2 difficulty modes, easy, and hell. As one GMC member put it: "It's either a casual game or you're up for a challenge!". The finished game will (probably) have online highscores as well, so this should be pretty sweet! :)
I hope to have the game finished at least by the end of September.

stuff's happenin!

Last night I released a test version of Rocket Leaper to my 3 testers(ThatSnail, Robert3DG, and Andy). So far I'm getting some pretty positive responses, the game obviously still needs more work, though.
I've also sent the game to another friend of mine who makes music, Twee/Fyaopo. He makes some really awesome music tracks, I hope he'll be willing to make one for Rocket Leaper! :)

I changed around and added a few things to the blog, the Art page might be worth looking at.

my new official avatar

As you can see, I've made myself a new avatar. I plan to stick with this one so it can become the image I am associated with. Yay.
Progress on Rocket Leaper goes well, I'm having trouble coming up with new rocket-type ideas. So feel free to give some ideas over on the GMC Game Ideas Topic. I'm also probably going to stick with the name Rocket Leaper.
Here is a new screenshot.
I guess that's all for now. Cya.

:E

Well it seems as if I may not be entering the Indie(function)/GameJolt competition after all. I have too many other projects that need attending to right now.

If you often browse the GMC Game Ideas & Design forum you may know that I have been working on remaking Rocket Leaper(name is subject to change). Rocket Leaper, as some of you know, was a GMC Jam #3 entry made in 72 hours... wait no, 36 hours, I spent the rest of my time on a second  entry for the jam :3
 >image removed<
I've been focusing on making better graphics for it, taking bits of advice from the GMC Chatroom. I think it looks pretty good...
I'm glad I started reworking the game from scratch, because, as you know, the GMC Jam version was made in 36 hours, and certainly rushed, with lots and lots of trashy "code". So starting fresh has made it easier to implement some of the new ideas that have been suggested on my game ideas topic HERE.

Meanwhile, my other Jam entry, "The Statues Live!" has had it's little sequel sitting around for a while. I've made some pretty nifty progress on the pro-gen'd levels so far. I'm just having a bit of trouble figuring out how I'm going to make the random levels be actual puzzles.

That's all for now!
